Kagan Australia is committed to providing a work environment where the risks of injury or illness to employees, visitors, or contractors have been eliminated, where reasonably practicable, or minimised to acceptable levels.
Kagan Australia has implemented an Occupational Health and Safety Management System compliant to the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 "Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems - Requirements".
Kagan Australia shall establish, monitor and review relevant Occupational Health & Safety objectives and targets to drive continual improvement in our OHS performance.
Management has an absolute responsibility under the Occupational Health & Safety legislation enacted within each state and territory of Australia to ensure the health and safety of all persons within the workplace. This responsibility shall be fulfilled by:
- providing employees appropriate supervision, training and information;
- ensuring that all plant, equipment, and substances are safe and without risks to health when properly used;
- consulting all employees and valuing their ideas when changes to the workplace are proposed; and
- proactively identifying hazards within the workplace and implementing appropriate controls to eliminate or minimise risks.
Employees must ensure their own health and safety and that of their colleagues, visitors and contractors working within Kagan Australia. Employees are required by law to co-operate with their employer in complying with the OH&S legislative requirements.
